What did you do this past week?

This past week was super busy for my, since both my Network Security class and SWE had exams, along with labs due this next week. I studied for both the exams while trying to sneak in work for the labs in my downtime.

What’s in your way?

Phase 2 is giving my group alot of trouble since the REST Api we’re using for one model is really badly made, since we can’t just query for exactly what we need. Consequently, each time we try and get data it takes hours to complete all the calls.

What will you do next week?

Thankfully, I finished my other lab, so this week is going to be all about Phase 2 and 3. I want to get all the requirements done as soon as possible, and then start refining the data and the website.

If you read it, what did you think of The Liskov Substitution Principle?

This article was connected to the last assigned paper, talking about the relationship between real world concepts and code. I feel like it helped me expand on my knowledge of Object Oriented Design, just like the previous paper.

What was your experience of Test #1? (this question will vary, week to week)

The test mirrored the Hackerranks we did in class, which made me feel much more prepared. Often the first exam of a course is harder than the rest for me since I am usually unfamiliar with the format and requirements, but I don’t think that will be the case this time around.

What made you happy this week?

I got a few new video games that I’m excited to play once I’m less busy.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

Make sure that your desk is well lit and think about keeping plants or nice pictures on it, just to help you feel better during busy times. It was especially helpful for me; I felt much more awake these last few days.
